Time to rebuild

This is going to be long process to bring this beautiful house back to its glory but we are committed to do just that! It amazes me how well this house held up against the fire. A house built today would be in ashes. I remember when I was home on maturity leave with our son 3 years ago I saw a clip on the Today show about fires. Research showed that 30 years ago you had about 17 minutes to escape your house, today its about 3 to 4 minutes. What is the difference? The world of synthetics. Synthetics burn hotter and faster. We all want new pretty things at a bargain but there are consequences. That little clip has stuck with me. This house is a testament to how well things were built. When you walk through the house the floors do not creak. The arsonist did not understand this fact either as they tried to set the main house on fire first and it is really hard to get brick and plaster to ignite. After multiple times (according to the experts) they went to the back and lit the wooden structure on fire. That is the only part of the house that was completely destroyed and removed. Here are some pictures to show you where we are starting. We do have the roof on at this point.
